What is Contingent Search? With contingent search, our placement fee is contingent upon whether you choose to hire a physician or midlevel candidate that we present. No hire=no payment. In order for us to effectively recruit for your practice, your search must meet the following criteria: • your position is marketable • your reputation in the recruiting area is solid • your compensation package is competitive • you are willing to move quickly once we find qualified candidates Search Firm Myths Debunked Good Candidates Don’t Use Recruiters Physician job seeker surveys show that 40-50 percent of candidates utilize recruiters. Personal networking and internet job postings remain the most popular job search methods, but why not increase your exposure? Passive candidates (the ones that are productively employed elsewhere) are not actively looking for a position, but could be enticed to consider a new opportunity if contacted by a recruiter. Search Firms are Expensive Let’s be clear. It takes a significant investment to recruit a new physician whether you do it on your own (staff time, journal/internet ads, tradeshow booths, interview expenses) or use a recruiter. When using a contingent recruiter, you only pay for results. But don’t forget about the costs associated with not filling your position. Though more difficult to measure, there are also costs associated with turning away new patients and cancelling surgeries or procedures—not to mention the burnout factor for the physicians who have increased call responsibilities and scheduling demands when a partner leaves.
